Thank you for your interest in Jumpstart St. Louis at Saint Louis University! Jumpstart St. Louis is proud to be a part of the greater St. Louis community. Since 2001, we've worked with hundreds of preschool children throughout the city to make sure that they reach kindergarten ready and able to succeed. Every year, we are looking for motivated and committed students to serve as Corps members and volunteers.
Jumpstart will offer you ongoing training and support as a part-time Corps member and prepare you to work one-to-one with a preschool child who desires more individualized attention than s/he may get in the regular classroom. Saint Louis University currently partners with Julia Goldstein Early Childhood Center, and the South Grand & Howard Branch Grace Hill Head Start centers to prepare many of their children for school success. This year, nearly 50 Jumpstart Corps members will serve the preschool children who attend those schools. The Corps members commit to serving at least 300 hours in their community and will receive an education award of $1,000 from AmeriCorps upon completing those hours. |

How Does It Work? |
| Since Jumpstart involves a yearlong commitment with a young child, you may participate in Jumpstart as a paid or volunteer Corps member. If you wish to be a paid Corps member, you must be work-study eligible. However, any Corps member who serves at least 300 hours is eligible to receive the $1,000 education award. Volunteers |
| Volunteers are also needed throughout the year in a variety of one-day and monthly projects, such as working in the classrooms, creating resources for children, and more. If you're interested in getting more information about Jumpstart volunteer opportunities, please e-mail
