Mission Statement/Objectives:


The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.


Service Opportunities:

  • Blood Drive Assistant: Volunteers that are willing to travel downtown St. Louis to volunteer at corporate blood drives.  Providing a warm friendly greeting to blood donors and explain the registration process for these donors.  Also may serve as a canteen aid providing refreshments to donors as they are completed with their blood donation.
  • Transportation Assistant: Transport donated blood and blood products from sites to laboratory for processing.
  • Warehouse Volunteer: Assist at the Red Cross Donation Warehouse, sorting donations, readying relief packages for transport to disaster areas, and more!

Volunteer Pre-Requisites:


- Volunteers must complete application
- Background check (no cost)
- Orientation and training session for certain positions, 2.5 hours
