Mission Statement/Objectives:


PYC creates strong communities by generating deep learning experiences designed to keep youth safe, successfully dealing with life situations and allowing them to grow into productive adults.PYC implements prevention programs to help children develop the skills to make positive choices in life, while striving to promote a violence-free school environment to ensure academic and social success for children of all ages.


Service Opportunities:

- After-School Program Assistant:  The After-School Program at Monroe Elementary School provides 50 children with a safe environment and positive activities following regular school classes.  Volunteers assist children, grades K-5, with fun arts/crafts projects, lead games, help with homework assignments, co-facilitate educational programs and assist the clinical coordinator in planning weekly activities.  The After-School Program is held at the school from 3:00-6:00 pm, Monday thru Friday.
- Development Assistant: Volunteers will work with Progressive Youth Connection's Director of Development researching grants for youth and families.  Prior experience with grant writing and research is recommended but not required.  Training will be provided.  Work can be done from home.
