Mission Statement/Objectives:

Our mission is to promote successful aging through a three-fold approach: lifelong learning, healthy living and social engagement. Founded in 1982 and based in St. Louis, the non-profit organization is now active in 40 cities across 24 states and serves more than 35,000 individuals each year.

Service Opportunities:

Together volunteers and children learn health tips, eat healthy snacks, and engage in active FUN, LIGHT exercise like playing with beach balls or parachute. Curriculum and all supplies are provided. Substitutes also welcome if volunteer cannot commit on an ongoing basis. Our typical volunteer commitment is one hour per week for 8-10 weeks. Visit to learn more about this OASIS program.
  • Evaluator – Gain evidence-based research experience. Evaluators are needed to attend three one hour sessions at each of our CATCH locations to watch and record the physical activities of the children and adults. Training will be provided on how to use the required MP3 player and evaluation tool to document what you see. CAN BE A ONE TIME OPPORTUNITY. Our typical volunteer commitment is 5 hours per semester.
  • Special Projets – OASIS has on-going special projects that can often been done on your own schedule, working from home.
