Mission Statement/Objectives:

Founded in 1988, Community Women Against Hardship. Inc. (CWAH) is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing programs and basic services to improve the quality of life for women and children struggling with poverty issues. CWAH assesses the most critical needs of each family and then provides the resources to address those needs, whether it be for food, clothing, emergency shelter, transitional housing, workshops to improve parent and youth relationships, health and nutritional outreach, and/or educational programs to enhance academic achievement and employability.

Service Opportunities:

- Youth Mentors: Volunteers needed to designing activities and work with youth of parents attending evening classes here at our Center.
- Parent Tutors: work one-on-one with parents to help them achieve success in the Adventurous Reading, GED, and/or Computer Technology training program.

- Youth Mentors: Mondays 5:30-7:30pm, Tuesdays 6:00-8:00pm, or Thursdays 5:30-8:00pm
- Parent Tutors: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-8:00pm.
