Mission Statement/Objectives:

 

The BRIDGE, provides sanctuary for homeless and at-risk persons in St. Louis. Meals and support services for basic human needs are offered by a staff intent on eradicating homelessness, by guiding guests on a path to self-sufficiency.

 

Service Opportunities:

 
  • Soup Kitchen Volunteer: Help prepare and serve meals to homeless people, as well as engage with them in conversation.
  • Computer Resource Room: We need volunteers to open up the Computer Resource Room, which allows guests to have access to free internet and computers. This resource is highly needed in order to help guests find jobs, apartments and education opportunities.
  • Front Desk Volunteer: The front desk is an important resource to our guests. Guests can get information on partner agencies, make appointments with our social worker, receive mail, and get toiletry items. We need volunteers that are patient, friendly, and can work well under pressure to help serve our guests. Training will be provided.
 
Days/Times:
  • Soup Kitchen Volunteer: 7 Days a week , 6:30am-9:00am (breakfast); 10am-2pm (lunch) and 4:00pm-6:30pm (dinner)
  • Computer Resource Room: Saturdays and Sundays, anytime 10am-6pm.
  • Front Desk Volunteer: Wednesdays anytime 1-4pm; Saturdays and Sundays, anytime 10am-6pm.
