Mission Statement/Objectives:

 

The BRIDGE, provides sanctuary for homeless and at-risk persons in St. Louis. Meals and support services for basic human needs are offered by a staff intent on eradicating homelessness, by guiding guests on a path to self-sufficiency.

 

Service Opportunities:

 
  • Soup Kitchen Volunteer: Help prepare and serve meals to homeless people, as well as engage with them in conversation.
  • Food Pick-Up: Pick up produce from Soulard Farmer's Market and Schnucks and deliver to the Bridge. Van provided, and a staff member of the Bridge will accompany.
  • Computer Resource Room: We need volunteers to open up the Computer Resource Room, which allows guests to have access to free internet and computers. This resource is highly needed in order to help guests find jobs, apartments and education opportunities.
  • Shower Volunteer: A private shower room is provided to our guests; volunteers will help guests sign-in, hand out towels, and show them to the shower room.
  • Mail Volunteer: Assist with passing out mail to guests who have the Bridge as their address.
 
Days/Times:
  • Soup Kitchen Volunteer: Mondays-Fridays, 6:30am-9:30am (breakfast); Monday -Fridays, 10am-2pm (lunch); Mondays-Thursdays, 4:30pm-6:30pm (dinner)
  • Food Pick-Up: Saturdays afternoons, 3-5pm; First Tuesday of the month, 1-3pm.
  • Computer Resource Room: Mondays-Fridays, anytime 9am-4pm.
  • Family Room Volunteer: Mondays-Thursdays, anytime.
  • Mail Volunteer: Tuesdays-Fridays, anytime 9am-4pm.
